I have a pentium 3 1ghz 80gb and 156mb ram pc. I just bought a azenram pc133 256mb chip to install to make more ram but I cant seem to get it working. I have a asus motherboard with phoenix technologies bios and on the board it only has 2 slots for memory and there both filled up 1 has a pc133 128mb chip and the other a pc125 128mb. So iI removed 1 and replaced it with the 256mb but when it loads up it hangs on the blue hp screen. I also tried putting it in every order and way possible but it still does the same thing. If anyone knows whats wrong id appreciate their help.

thx

than you have an oddball stick of ram or it is a typo error from manufacturer. which 128 did you leave with 256

Did you try the 256MB itself? Try it with both sticks of 128MB? Try it in different slots? Also, I'm guessing since it gets to your blue HP screen that the motherboard does accept the memory (if it didn't it'd be beeping and raising hell). The hanging could be a number of things, though.

I'd do what I listed about and check the 258MB by itself and then if it works check it with each 128MB ram and see if that produces any better results.

Ok im sure that i found the problem. Futureshop gave me false advertisment in there paper they show the azenram pc133 256mb chip with 8 memory chips on each side (16 total), but the 1 they gave me only has 4 on each side (8 total). Does anyone know for sure if this is my problem because the other 2 memory chips in my pc have 16 chips total not 8.
