I made a back up of this movie with VOB Blanker, Shrink and DVD Decrypter,in that order.
A).Install VOB Blanker, then create a folder on your hard drive(C:;D:,E:) call it REA (that will be your output folder use the browse Button on VOB blanker to select it).
B).select the VIDEO_TS folder on the Resident Evil DVD that will your input folder.
Press the PROCESS button, that?s it. (Don?t change any setting on VOB Blanker).

C). Now use DVD Shrink (select from your hard drive the REA folder as your source) and shrink and decrypt the movie.
D.)I used Shrink to make the movie into an ISO and used DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO.
I hope this step by step helps.
Redant OUT.

I also can't get any program (recode2, shrink, CopyDvd3,InstantCopy8, etc to back up Resident Evil Apoc.

I downloaded VOBBlanker. Selected my Video_TS files on my DVD Rom (reader).
Created a folder on C:/Resident/VIDEO_TS.

Found the files I wanted to blank by previewing the files.

Highlighted all the files in Title Set window of VOBBlanker. This did not cause the process button to become active (still grayed out).

I then went to the TitleSet window and double clicked the vts file and it opened up the PGC files in that VTS. I highlighted the PGC files I wanted to blank and hit the Blank button. I did this for every file I wanted to blank.

STILL the process button is not activated (still grayed out).

What am I doing wrong......

Thanks

For everyones info, Here a the three best ways to backup apocalypse.

1. If you got decryptor and shrink just get the .pdl file
upload it to decryptor and presto your past the 4% mark.
You can still run it through shrink.

(By far the best if you don't want another trial program on your desktop.)

2. Super dvd 2.00 works fine free trial program, make sure you change the destination to copy from source to. I think you can run it through shrink after that. If you try and burn it from disk to disk you'd better have dual laver capabilities+media. If you dont you can still back it up single layer but super dvd will split the layers, forcing you to use 2 dvd-+r disks. The first that comes out is usless no movie on it but the second is a fine playable version.

(This is a fine method but you put unneeded softwear on your pc and waste time.)

3)Vob blanker: This one is way more complicated and wastes alot of precious time. I gave up on it after about 30 minutes. Never figured it out. Pdl file is so much more simple. If you are sucessfull with it more power to you.

same here..used the new anydvd 2 by slysoft and CloneDVD. it backed up like a charm. no hesitation in the beginning of the movie whatsever. used the other way super dvdcopy and shrink. and the dvd wouldn't boot up in the pc and had a delay in the dvd player. so i tried again with slysoft anydvd 4.4.1.1 the beta, and the CloneDVD current verison and it worked!! it booted up in pc and played like the original in dvd player. used verbatim dvd+ media on these with plextor 716a dual burner tlc 0202 hardware

Where did you get AnyDvd beta 4.4.1.1?

I am a registered owner of ANYDVD and use it all the time. Have not been notified of the beta version.

Also does not show on their website.

hey the file you need is called dvd_video.psl You should be able to get it here http://forum.dvddecrypter.com/index.php?showtopic=15390
If you can't register we'll have to find another way to get it to you. probably via e-mail. I have it now but most popular e-mail servers won't accept program attachments.

Thanks for all the input about this subject! I did use VOB blanker and DVD Shrink to finally get a successful back up! If anyone else is looking for the answers they are all listed above! One thread does have a link to get the VOB Blanker, just have to be patient and read through til you get to it! Thanks everybody! Peace!
