Hello.
I have a dell dimension 3000 that I want to add a video card to and have learned agp is faster. The problem is there isn't a slot for agp. There are lpc holes there to put one. So, how do I put one there? Can I even do that? Thanks for the help!

are you certain the motherboard does not have an agp slot as the slot is usually close to cpu & is same length or longer than pci slot

Yes I am sure the slot is not there. I am sure there is a place to put one though. I just need to know what the process is to put one there now.

1: try & get an agp connector that will fit your board.
2: remove board so as to be able to desolder all the holes if filled with solder were connector goes.
3: solder connector to motherboard & reinstall motherboard in case.
4: use an old working agp card to see if video comes up on screen as i said earlier some of the circuitry might not been installed onto motherboard

Yes I will get a picture of the mobo to show you. I did a ram upgrade today, while in the bios it had an agp selection where you could change it to 256,128 etc. I dont know if that matters or not.. but its a little info till I get a picture.

I went to Dell.com and read their forums. You're right, there's no way to put one on.. But I'm going to try the PCI route I guess.
