I used to use RecordNow Dx because that's what came bundled with my LiteOn, now I have Nero bundled with my Pioneer external. I honestly liked RecordNow better, although in the end it's all the same.

I noticed a number of you mentioned having problems using xcopy xpress. I use it almost exclusively without problems. I did, however, discover that some dvd's I back up has to decrypted by anydvd rather than DVD43. Now I use ANYDVD with xcopy xpress and still no problems. I do, however like the versatility of clonedvd2 and the bonus is you get to watch snapshots of the dvd. For me xpress has more than payed for itself and I just bet I'm not the only one. Since you can no longer get xcopy xpress except the international copy, CloneDVD2 would be my recomendation along with ANYDVD as a decrypter.

I've used DVD Shrink and Nero from the beginning without any problems until the recent movies that people have had problems with. Then I got AnyDvD to run in the background to solve that problem. Havent needed anything else myself.

My favorite DVD burner so far has been 1 Click Copy so would like to know what problems people have found with it. I have found it fast and reliable and the picture quality has been first rate. Have backed up episodic disks without too many problems at all.

recently have been messing around with DVD Shrink and using Nero 6 to then burn the movie - very impressive indeed.

When I first started out backing up DVD's I bought DVD X Copy and found problems with it from the start -very poor results, many disks failed. Very expensive!!
Still on my computer but haven't used it for the past 8 to 10 months.

here's the 4 best to me I have and use them. Fo r different things.

1. Dvd decryptor + shrink (best) will rip and burn any thing best for copying originals. Takes a while when you have to shrink it though.

2. Dvd x copy (great if you can find it)ha ha

3. 1 click dvd copy will burn dual layer dvd's but you need a dual layer disk to write to. The best for making backup to backup dvd's. Then u can use a single layer disk.

4. Super dvd copy bout the same as number 3
