Go to this link and follow the instructions by Scuba Pete in the 12th post down. Chack back in if that isn't working.

Tried that everything was ok till it was time to burn. I put in blank disk in and it was not recognized by the drive. I was so excited when I got the drive I feel like trashing it.

Is your drive plugged into USB 1 or USB 2 port on the PC? USB 1 doesn't have a fast enough data rate to burn dvds Does the computer see a usb device connected? It could be a bad or loose connection in the enclosure.

Have you made sure the drive is good? ie.. try it out of the casing internally in a computer. I have 2 NEC 3500A's and they are perfect! Also get the latest firmware 2.18
