Tosh 3490 - Help - DVD won't run !!

I have a Toshiba Portege 3490 CT, with Win 2K (Servoce pack 4). It has an external drive (which works). However I can't run DVD's. The system has been upgraded from Win 98 to 2000, Can't seem to find a player that works !.

I have Windows Media Player and DivX Player, these don't work either

Do I need a patch ?

Hope someone can help ..many thanks

I have a toshiba portege 3490. it don't know about yours, but it usually comes with a cd-rom NOT a dvd-rom.

Upgrading the operating system won't matter because your problem is in the hardware. Buy an external dvd-rom if you want to play dvds.
