Greetings,

I new here so I'm not sure if this is the right place or not and I haven't had any luck searching for my answer.

Can anyone tell me specifically which media this drive will support. I know it will work with DVD+R/+RW.

Will it work with -R/-RW and any other formats? Also, is it a double-layer capable drive?

It is in an almost-new Dell 8400 and the documentation is lacking.

1) You posted in the wrong forum

2) Your thread title is a little off. At first it looks like you have a media question, but you are actually asking about your drives media compatibility.

You've got a +R(RW) drive only. But according to videohelp.com it also can burn dual layer discs.

So yes you've got a dual layer +R(RW) burner.
