Alright, To start off, I've Read Through these Forums Over and Over again on Differant way's to Bypass the Encryption on the newer Dvd titles. but for some reason "Dawn of the Dead" won't back up for me.
Heree's what I have tried so far.
I tried to Backup with the normal way of Shrink DVD, About Half way in it fails.
alright next route, Vob Blanker.... Again Halfway through Fails.
another route, AnyDvd with dvd Shrink, Fails Half way in again.
AnyDvd + Dvd Decrypter. Fails yet again.
AnyDvd + Vob Blanker same story.
Has anyone been able to back up this Title?

P.s. here are prgram versions I am Running.
AnyDvd 4.5.5.1
Dvd Decrypter 3.5.2.0
Dvd Shrink 3.2
Vob Blanker 1.6.0.3

I am a complete newbie too. I used the same version of DVD Shrink as you and it worked.

Here's the techbical bit...........

CLEAN THE DISC... Trust me on this, I have suffered many times in the past with this problem. I have backed up this title with 100% success

It does sound like a problem with the original. the New encryption won't let you get half way through. So either the disc is dirty, or it has corrupt data at the 1/2 way mark where it always stops. Dvd's with corrupt data may play just fine, but the problem shows up when you try tp rip them. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

the disk must have been dirty.
Guess next time I'll have to make a check list.
1: is disk Durty/Scratchy?
2: is it really Encrypted?
3: and so on.

We all learn in time. We think we have everything down just right, then they throw new encryptions at us. Its a constant learning process. Glad its working for you.
