I have tried many Firmwares but no matter what i do, DVD Decrypter never goes over 6-7x and only hits that by the end of the DVD. My burner is the master on my 2nd ide port and is in Ultra DMA 2. I dont know what is holding me back. Suggestions? thx.

most dvd burners are locked at 2x for ripping. You could try and find a hack firmware. cheaper to just get a dvd rom for like $35

I have a 3500AG. It's not unusual to get the rip times you are reporting. It seems that different protection schemes slow down ripping for that drive. The newest structural schemes add a few minutes to a rip when using decrypter for whatever reason. I suspect it's when Decrypter is padding with dummy sectors. NECs are not known as good readers. I also have a Lite-On which is known as a good reader and some rips are slow on it as well. Rips usually take between 15-22 minutes, depending. The average rip speeds will be from 4.2X to 6.2X usually for the NEC, either 2500 or 3500. The LO will be somewhat higher, but not by much.
