out of sync sound on DVD-R

i believe the DVD authorizing software recommended on these forums does not match the video and audio channels properly, causing the sound on the DVD to be a bit ahead of the video. how can this be corrected?

And what software are you using?

There are several threads on this topic already here. Have you read those for ideas?

I haven't read them because I have never had such a problem, using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, and NERO

I had the same problem with the anydvd-shrink-Nero combo. This was on Forgotten. These are the latest releases for each program also. I was able to use another program to burn and had no more problems.

To create my DVD, i follwed this guide:

I have used the following software:

SRT2SUP (required only for the subtitles)

AVIcodec (to determine what audio and video codecs you need)

FFDSHOW (required only if you don't have existing codecs to play DivX or XviD files -- depending on your source video format)

TMPGEnc (required! for encoding the video -- note that the trial version works for only 30days!)

IFOEdit (required! for authoring the DVD-Video disc)

NERO6 to burn

So this problem is because I used Nero to burn the DVD?

That guide is just one of many many ways to encode and author a DVD-Video.

I have used a little of the information from that guide but just used TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc DVD Author.

All-In-One DVD converters are probably the way to go for someone just starting out.

Have you tried using NeroVision Express to encode and author your video.
Nero StartSmart > Make Your Own DVD-Video > Add Video Files...

Many people like VSO DivXToDVD because it is free and easy to use.

Oh. I guess I should answer your first question. TMPGEnc does have a advanced setting to offset the audio so that it will more closely match the video.

That only really works if the audio is off by the same amount through the entire video.

I can't tell you how to get to that setting, because of a recent computer cleanup, I don't have TMPGEnc currently installed. But the setting is there if you look for it.

The setting in TMPGEnc to correct audio sync is under the source range settings. There is also a setting in IFOEdit if you use that to authour your dvd files.

speaking of audio sync, I'm having a bit of a wierd sync problem myself. I used the same guide and everything worked perfectly. The audio is in sync when i play the files on my computer or if i play the burned dvd-r on my dvd rom drive; however when i stick the dvd in my dvd player to watch the video on my tv, the audio is off (about a second fast), how does this work? This is really puzzling me, could it be a compatability issue with the dvd player i have? It's about 2.5 years old player and it's a toshiba model number SD-2800KC if that means anything to anyone
