Sorry if I missed it but I can't find a suggestion to this problem other than "Dirty Disk Syndrome". I have been looking for the last hour. Someone did mention that it was a new form of copy protect but didn't offer any solutions. I am using AnyDVD, Shrink and Nero, all up to date, with no problems on any other titles including some that show up here a lot. The two that are giving me fits with the CRC error message are Monster and Caligula. They are brand new, clean disks. Thanks in advance, this is a great place for info and has been a lot of help getting me up to speed....Mike
I have had that problem before and I think it was from the disc not being pressed properly from the manufacturer. Have you tried different copies of the same movie to copy from?

Have you tried DVD Decrypter? Even brand new clean discs can have errors due to defective media or burning. Try Decrypter then try this settings if that does not work.
First, it should be version 3.5.1.0 or later.
Open Decrypter, click on Tools, then Settings
Click on Defaults, then select these;
General tab
Options - Removal Method - Aggressive
File Mode tab
Options - Remove PUOs (IFO and/or VOB)
ISO Read Mode tab
Options - Remove PUOs (IFO and/or VOB)
CSS tab
CSS Cracking Method - Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange
On Failure - Yes
IMPORTANT:
I/O tab
Options - Ignore read errors.
This is an excellent setting for dealing with scratched discs which may cause ripping problems.
The only other time, besides dirty or scratched media, that I have gotten a crc error, is when I tried copying from a dvd-r to another dvd-r, and that was because of the stupid labels I put on them. I took them off, and haven't gotten that stupid crc error since. This probably doesn't have anything to do with you, bt I jst wanted to put it out there for people to read in case they have the same problems with labels.
