Picture freezes after merging Mpegs with dvtool

I have merged 10 mpegs with dvtool. Its all recorded in the new file. However, when I play it (using real player), the picture freezes about three qtr of the way through. The sound is perfectly OK and the picture IS running in the background because if I click and move the time elapsed slider button a touch, it returns and works, intermittently.
