Hi,

I finally got an Aopen 1648/AAP Pro DVD-Rom after hearing so much good about it but I am disappointed to see that when I do a CRC check on some DVD-R discs I got a few red blocks here and there (CRC errors).

When I read the same disc in my LG or Samsung burners, the discs are read without any errors. I am getting mad at this. I thought the Aopen 1648 rom would read all that I would throw in it but it seems my two burners are better. I am using the latest firmware (1.01).

Have others experience the same thing? I have tried all sorts of combination. Trying to make the Aopen drive, master, slave on the IDE but no luck. I have an Asus motherboard (P4S8X-X). I don't know if that makes any difference! I really hope to make the AOpen read all discs because it rips so quickly.
