Hi
Can anyone help me out.I have broadband and have been downloading torrents and from dc++ at speeds of 35-60kbps.But recently i cant seem to download more than 5kbps.I did a bandwidth test and was quoted at 500+ which is ok.Then i thought it might be because i wasnt getting enough seeders on my torrents. But even on dc++ i start at 40+ then really quicky come down to 5 and this is where it stays at.
Whether i download 1 torrent or 10 torrents i cant download more than 5kbps combined (checked all the setting for unlimited downloads )Same with dc++.

any help would be greatly appreciated
thankz

After investigating more i have found out that my isp
provider ( tiscali ) have started choking p2p ports.

:( sneaky b****rds.

Heres the evidence.

This could be bad news for other isp users in the future.
defenatly did not see this one coming.

Dont the isp providers know 80% of us get broadband so we can share files on p2p bases?
If they start choking on these ports were are there customers gona come from?
Anyways i have only 6 weeks to go on my tiscali contract,Lets hope the other isp providers dont follow tiscali.

I had the same problem with using azuerus, I tried all sorts of different ports, then had a light bulb moment of using port 80 (http/internet), and it seems to have worked a treat as I'm back up to normal speed 50-60k.

I've still cancelled my account (despite been told there is nothing wrong with p2p traffic) and you've got to give them 30 days notice (for some bizarre reason). They don't even give you a mac code to easily transfer to another isp!!!

I'm going with http://www.ukonline.net/ as they are offering a 8meg line for only 15 quid more.
