My problem is I found a motherboard which i thought was perfect but i now relise it is supports SATA not IDE.

Im hoping that someone can guide me to a new motherboard which has the following:-

1 x IDE for my two HDD
1 x IDE for my DVD-RW
1 x Free 8X AGP Slot
1 x Free Socket A
1 x 34Pin for FDD
5.1 Channel Sound
at least 2 x 2.0 USB slots

Any help would be much apricated.

yeah, IDE is still too popular of a format for manufacturers to stop producing it. Unless you're looking at some incredibly high-end board, it probably has it, it just may not be listed. Have you checked to specs from the manufacturer's website?

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Hey

Most new Socket 775 Intel and 939 AMD boards are coming without IDE and just SATA.

If you like that board, why not buy an IDE Controller Card and put it in, and run your drives off that.

What board where you going to get?

like CJC said, you can get a PCI IDE adapter. I got one a ATA-133 at Fry's for like $30.
