pioneer dvr-109 backing up problem

I bought 2 of the pioneer dvr-109 and everytime I try to burn a dvd, I get an error message. The process gets to 100% and the the error shows. I have tried multiple burning programs and no help. I put my pioneer dvr-a06u back in, and i have no problems.

Similar problem, backswift. New DVR-109 and can't even burn a CD-R without an error message and a wasted CD.
I run Windows 2000. Tried Nero (Express) and Cyberlink's Power2Go with same results.
Thinking of returning it!
