SERIAL ATA Question

I have a serial ata board and I was thinking of adding a couple of Hard Drives. My question is say I have 4 devices on a regular ATA setup (A DVD ROM, A DVD Burner, A Zip Drive and A Hard Drive to load the OS. Can I turn around and add two SATA Hard Drives and still keep my original devices or does a SATA Drive take over one of your other drives?

I think you mean that your current devices are IDE. If you decide to go with SATA, yes you could keep your current drives just the way they are.

So I can keep my current drives on my IDE channels and then add two additional Hard Drives VIA SATA on the SATA ports? I ordered the Gigabyte GA-K8NS
