Is DVD identifer a check that is used on every DVD. Or just on each brand? will DVD identifer check each DVD to tell me if its a good DVD?

There's no option (that I know of) in DVD Identifier to check your dvd's for read errors (which is what I think you are asking). Normally, I'd recommend dvdinfopro, but the free version has expired, and until a new free version is out, I cannot see recommending it.

If you have the full Nero suite, then you have "Nero CD-DVD Speed" which contains an option to scan dvd's for read errors.
