Hi all, im new here to your fine boards.
My question, is their any major diffrence between the Athlon XP and the Sempron? im currently running an XP 2200 and would like to bump up to a 2800 or 3000. i heard the Semprons were inferior to the Athlon, just wondering if thats true. thanks.

i personally prefer xp. they are better overall than semprons they were made to compete with intel´s celeron d cpu they are both economics cpus (that affect performance).
FINAL:
semprons are really good chips,.. but remember they were make for office/buisness solutions not intend for game,multimedia and xtreme overclocking.
the athlon xp are great chips for multimedia,gaming overclocking etc... and notice that the barton core uses twice the cache (512kb)L2 than 256 kb of semprons.
