I was just wondering if anyone knows the compression rate of this format. When I rip music in Winamp, this is the default file. The quality seems to be great, but I don't know the actual compression rate and I would like to see how it compares to wma and ogg formats.

The .m4a (MPEG-4 Audio) is a file extension used to denote AAC files.

I still haven't managed to find the actual compression rate, but I did find that m4a is rated over wma. Don't know about ogg though.
