I have a Packard Bell Legend 386x that i am trying to install a cd-rom drive into, just for the heck of it.

My problem is in the bios, there is no setting for a cd-rom drive. There are only options for a 3.5" floppy, a 5" floppy, and two hard drives (with options to change HD properties like cylinders, heads, sectors, etc.). What do i set the cd-rom drive as?
Is there any way to get around this. BTW, the bios is a chip, not the flashable type. thanks

Dell OptiPlex GXa
Powerleap PL-iP3/T w/Celeron 933MHz
384MB SDRAM, 80GB HD, DVD+/-RW/CD-RW
ATI Radeon 9200 w/128MB DDR
Non-modded PS2, LaunchELF exploit
Network Adapter, Headset, 120GB HD

all bioses are on a chip, just that some older pentiums & before computer bios chip had to be physically removed & put on a eprom programer. done that. set cdrom as slave(jumper wise) to the hd & load cdrom software onto computer so it can see cdrom. but possibility might have compatibilty problems between hd & cd
