I'm trying to rip a dvd (Rambo III Pal), i want to keep all the menus etc and make it fit on a dvd-5 without re encoding the whole film... I thought maybe i could just rempeg the end credits and it would then fit ok, or even remove the end credits.. but rempeg just crashes on me.. it used to work ok until windows service pack 1... any ideas how i can do this with minimal fuss?

thanks

The easiest way to do this would be to remove the credits. The round-about, but easy, way to do this is to split it to 2 DVD-R's in IFOEDIT, leaving the movie in one folder and the credits in another. To do this, find out which chapter the credits are. This is normally the last or next-to-last chapter of the movie (sometimes the last chapter is simply nothingness). Split the DVD at that chapter to leave only your main movie in the first folder, then just delete the 2nd DVD-R folder. Hope that reduces the size enough. Good luck.
