Sony DRU700a doesn't recognize Blank Media

Hi i have a sony DRU700a running the VY08 Firmware. I haven't used my drive much, ive burnt stuff on it b4 with cd's and dvd's. But recently i went out and bought some Ritek G04's and my drive would only recognize 12 out of the 50 i bought. Thinking i was just really unlucky, i went out and bought a 5pack of TDK's which i also didn't get recognized by my drive. Now im at a loss, and im not willing to by any more media until this is fixed? Any advice appreciated.

I have two DRU-700A's, both on VY08 and they work perfectly with Memorex and Verbatim media. Hopefully someone will have an answer for you.
