Can anyone help?
Recently did firmware upgrade from Sony drwu14a to Sony DRU510a 1.of.
Now in the control panel the drive is shown as a cd rom and will detect a blank dvd-r, but will not detect dvd+r unless it is an already written to dvd=r.

From reading the forums i understand u can flash back to an older drive, but not sure that would solve this problem. I'm wondering if something else is causing this problem.

Any suggestions are appreciated...would hate to think the drive is not useable properly.

Not able to write on blank dvds, showing it is useable with dss or NTIdvd drive info.
