quick question regarding taking hdd overseas (to canada) - anyone know the score about customs looking at hdd's and inspecting the contents?

i.e. potentially an issue if the hdd's in question are full of cheeky mp3s, games, films etc...

cheers in advance

are you talking about the tower ot the actual hard drive itself?? on either case they'll scan it with sniffers & xray machines to make certain does not contain illegal materials like drugs, bomb(s)& weapons. i live in canada

yeah its just the hdd's - but i would imagine that most customs officials would know what a hard drive looks like...

however, just concerned that they might be interested in the contents of them, and take them away to be searched - to find a few films, games & mp3s on...

i doubt very much as it involves time & they have to be fairly quick to get the people thru customs on time

cool- i think you're right - they have far bigger fish to fry.
i mean, they wouldn't give a sh*t about someone taking through a bunch of audio cassettes and vhs tapes i'd imagine.
