I've made dozens of DVD's using DVD Decrypter, IFOEDIT, and Nero but how do you remove the Spanish angle from Star Wars Phantom Menace??? I've split the movie and burned sucessfully but the Spanish angle pops up with English at the beginning and at other chapters. There is a section in IFOEDIT under Movie Extras to Remove Angles but it isn't made available. I'm sure there are a million people that have sucessfully burned a perfectly split copy of this movie. How is it done??? All replies are appreciated!

I'm not sure if this will help you now, but I've always had dvd decrypter checked to strip angle 1 only in every movie. I don't know if you still have the original disc or not, but I think I saw somewhere about needing to strip the angle at the ripping process. I think I saw it in a pretty large thread about Star Wars AOTC not too long ago.

i split and copyed my movie by stripping all angles except for angle 1
i have version 0.95 of ifoedit. it is under vob extras, about the 2 or 3 screen i think
in the top right of the box there is an option for stripping angles
when i get home later from work i will have a look for you

I see the section for Removing Angles in IfoEdit095 but it doesn't give me the option to use it. It's like it doesn't realize there is another angle? I open VTS_06_0.IFO and IfoEdit just doesn't let me remove that angle. Error in Ifoedit or the rip or am I missing something? On the original rip, Ch 1 and 2 has 3 angles according to IfoEdit. When I double click on any one of them, they all look the same with the English and Spanish angles flipping between the two. Should they be different when previewing, with just one angle?

I do see a section under settings in DVD Decryper for multiangles. I chose to keep only 1 angle and now I'm reripping. Let you know if it works. Thanks

Thanks for helping me learn something new, it works! I was noticing that the last 9 vob ids are just black screens when previewed (7/1, 8/1, 9/1, etc). Any idea what that's about and if it affects the movie if I leave or remove them?

From my understanding, the blank screen ones are either just that, nothing, or are a still picture of say like the fbi warning or something. Did you preview in vobrator, I assume? I've never been able to tell what those were either. I can't say whether it's OK to get rid of them or not, they might contain some sound over them. I'm not too fluent as to what all that stuff means in ifoedit, but I do think it;s in there somewhere as to what those could actually be.

Hello Sublime 77,
You can also do it with DVD Decrypter from the start !
Rip the entire disc in File-mode, but don't forget:
- Go the the DVD Decrypter Settings - File Mode.
Under the tab File Mode, tick in the left column that it keeps angle 1 when ripping in file mode.
By default this is not selected in DVD Decrypter !
This also works great with Star Wars 2 - Attack Of The Clones.
You will see in the log-screen fro DVD Decrypter that it will skip the sectors from angle 2.
When done, you can do a streamstrip with Ifoedit of resize the movie (I choose to split it and keep full quiality).
Best greetz to all,
Kenwood

I tried using DVD Decrypter by keeping only Angle 1. But after I split it, when it has the words at the beginning it will lock up. I can forward through that part but it will not play through like normal. Has anybody had this happen, too? Or is there a way to rip the whole DVD and then strip out the angles within IFOEdit .95? Thanks!

Sublime77,
Regarding Ifoedit and Phantom Menace. You must remove the angles 1st thing. In other words, if you were to strip out any audio or subs first, then Ifoedit won't give you the option of removing angles after that. Even if angles exist.
It's been a while since I backed that one up but I recall making that mistake.
You are entering a world of pain Smokey.

Hmm, I tried that with DVD Decrypter and it stripped out the extra angles. But when I play it after splitting it in Ifoedit, it stops or locks up at the point where the other angles were (at the beginning where the text is scrolling on the screen). Forwarding past that point works fine. Does anybody remember how they got Phantom Menace to work using Ifoedit??? Thanks!!

Rip the movie to your hd. When you open Ifoedit, first thing you do is get rid of angles 2 and 3. Then you can strip out extra audio and subs and/or split to 2 discs.
Don't forget to check off 'remove angle points' in top right box.
You are entering a world of pain Smokey.

OK I figured it out. I think the key was ripping and cutting out Angles 2 and 3 in DVD Decrypter. Then, in IFOEdit I removed angle points and now the movie works great. Only thing is it stripped out the captions at the bottom when they speak in foreign language... but oh well.
