Would appreciate any advice on copying 2 films onto 1 DVD 9 disk. I thought it would be a case of copying each film seperately to my hard drive and then using Nero Startsmart to add the files to the DVD9 disk in my dual layer drive. Not so. Looks as though there are similar files on each film that either nero or my drive does not like.
I would like to burn both films keeping all the features.
What I thought would be a simple task has me baffled.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards, George

Use DVD Shrink.
>Back up movie one to hard disc using DVD-9 output (found in preferences
>Insert movie two into drive and open shrink
>Go to open disc, let it do its quick scan, drag movie over to left hand pane.
>Go to open files, click on movie one and drag movie over to left hand pane
>Backup using DVD-9 output
***2 x 'normal length' movies (not 3hour marathons) will fit onto 1 DVD-5 if you remove all credits/extras/soundstreams and will give almost decent quality
***1 x 'marathon' will fit on a DVD-5 if you remove the above bits and give good quality
***At $38 for 50 compared to around $13 for 3 DVD-9, thats $0.76 compared to $4.33, you could make a heap of good quality single layer discs for the same price. And its proven technology that will play on standalones, unlike dual layer media

Sorry, should change that to
>open shrink, click on re-author button
>browse to movie 1 and drag across
>browse to movie 2 and drag across
>backup
In doing this you loose menu functions, the dvd will play first movie then second movie

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply deadcat. Will give it a go. As you say makes financial sense to use DVD-5.
Regards, George.
