I am about to get a laptop from my office for home use and give my current desktop to my 5 year old. I am considering purchasing an external DVD RW drive to connect to the laptop via USB 2.0.

Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

what is the specs on laptop & what version of usb do you have, 1 or 2??

It will most likely be an IBM Thinkpad T series.
