I have successfully backed up many of my DVDs and they all work on DVD player (Sony) They also all work on DVD writer they where created with. Half of the back ups are on Fuji film -R and other half on Fuji film +R the -R media will not recognize in computer drives other than the writer. Doesn't even show a disk in drive under my computer sometimes freezing my computer until the ejection of the disk all +R media is immediately recognized and play with out delay. Was hope for another route that re-burning half of my collection, for view on notebook computer

Burning software is DVD Decrypter and Pinnacle studios for compression/ burning

Your laptop just may not be compatable to play -R media (check your manual) You could try updating your Firmware for the drive just go to the manufactures website and download it.
