This is what i have:

xp pro
asus k8v deluxe mobo
amd 64 3200+
450w allied power
AIW radeon 9800pro 128mb
audigy 2
corsair ddram 512 32mx8 3200c2
2 seagate 120gb on raid 0
liteon cdrw 52/32/52
16X dvd rom

i recently aquired a nec 3520a dvdrw that i need to install, im sort of lazy getting around to it

but what i really want some information on is:

1 - more memory, 2 gigs i would like so any opinions on the route i should take there.

2 - raptor 10k hd that i would use for my boot drive and to store some pshop files and maybe some flash stuff, so any opinions there would be nice,

3 - getting rid of my 19" crt for a 19" lcd, any suggestions there?

4 - power supply?

any response would be appreciated

Looks like you really don't need anything that will make a big dent in performance unless you upgrade the CPU instead of the rest. You will notice a speed increase in your HD though.

?3 - getting rid of my 19" crt for a 19" lcd, any suggestions there??

This one is the tricky one since the PP is going to go from your 19? CRT and guessing around .025 to a 19? LCD of .0294. You are not going to like that one.

Pixel Pitch: 0.294 19" LCD Worst

Pixel Pitch: 0.270 21.3" LCD Better

Pixel Pitch: 0.264 17" LCD Best

450W PSU is ok; I have a 500W and it's fine even with my extra LED and 8 fans and 6800 GT video card.

I agree with memory update; double it to 1GB. no sense in taking it up to 2GB. Kingston and Crucial are the best vendors.

I have a 19" Dell 1901FP and it shakes and bakes; but, costly; top of the line; I found a Polyview 19" for 299.00 at newegg.com and love it. So far so good. Also, I have a 21" Philips crt which I use for Gaming and like it alot.

I'd upgrade the video card for sure. I am running with a $404 GeForce 6800GT and love it.

Dasd looks good; expecially if you are running at 10K rpm with SATA; you are 10x better than the average Geek out there with that config.

Keep us posted; you are on your way to kick-ass Rig.

......I would go for Raptors to replace those ATA drives you have. The Raptors do make a big difference and in Raid 0 they are amazingly fast........as for video I really don't think you will see a big jump if you went with the newest video card.......I believe any more than 1gig of ram is a waste.......Just my 2 cents......
