I burned a cd, but i want to find out the band's name is there a way of uploading the cd somewhere where i can get the band info?

the only way is if you have the entire complete album, you can put it in any cd ripping program and it will access the cd database (cddb) and retreive the album info

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Most free CD-Rippers use the FreeDB CD info repository!
