can't burn anymore for some reason, using a plextor-712UF external

yeah I got this around january and I have been burning dvds without any problems, but recently It won't let me burn, when I use dvd decrypter it gives me a "The semaphore timeout period has expired." it says it can't write certain sectors.

When I try to burn with roxio it get's to 2% then I get an error "Track Writer error - ASPI Failure - [T7121]"

I also tried to burn with clonedvd and I got another error, but I forgot what it was

I made sure I went to the drive properties and checked the box that said "enable CD recording on this drive" I don't know what else to do i've wasted so many Dvds, good ones to, I've been using verbatims

also the burner allows both dvd-r and dvd+r so I don't think that's it. But who knows

any help would be great thanks
