Ok, I need to determine if this is repairable or I should just go out and buy another burner...
I've got a LG4028B DVD burner with 208 firmware... love this product, everything was goin fine until the last 2 weeks... here's the 411... I burn a lot!!! about 30DVDs/month and i've had this burner for about 1 year now...
I'm running XP Pro SP1 (cuz only idiots go SP2) and i've tried with Nero (5.x.x & 6.x.x), NTI-CD, Roxio and DVDXCopy... and with DVD+\-RW, it burns fine... a little slower in reading and finishing the disc, but it gets the job done.... with DVD+\-R, these past two weeks, it has decided to stop working properly... i've got all kinds of errors returned to me... mainly Focus and tracking or seek errors. Prior to the last 2 weeks, i've had maybe 5 coasters the entire time... i'm at 12 straight bad burns now and i'm fed up...
So, i was just wondering if anyone have anymore advices? Or maybe it's just time to buy a new burner cuz i've worn out this one... any suggestions?
