Does any one a link to any kind of chart where I can see the relation betwen dv format and mpg2 using diferent compression ratios ? For ex. What compression ratio my I use if I'm trying to fit a 2 hours dv movie to a 4,7 blank dvd ? (I'm using AC3 compression for the audio)

Two things first. Post once, and don't capitalize your subject.

There are many variables that I cannot know from what you ask. The best method is to get a good bitrate calculator and punch in the values. IfoEdit has one in it's program already. As to your example. A 2 hour movie is at about 4500. I'm not sure if you did this, but don't reencode the audio. You will get playback problems.

Thanks for your answer I will ply with the bitrate calculator of InfoEdit to see how it works. At the moment, once I have the movi compressed (with the pinnacle compressor) I compress the pcm audio to AC3 using the build-in Scenarist AC3 encoder and then I build the final movie using scenarist. I works great. The only problem as, I said is compressing from avi to mp2 as it cost a lot of time (a relation of one to one) and until the end I never know how much space is it...
