I just picked up this new unit and I was wondering if anybody else has one or if anybody heard things about this model - good or bad.

hey terror. I have put at leas three of these in friends puters. I have not gotten any negative reports on 'em yet. I have used lite-onit drives for a couple years now. Have had no failures yet. The only reason I ordered the Plexi was for more buffer. But even at that it was a just in case thingy as I don't feel personally that the speed or quality of burns it that much better. I also think as of the Plexi 1.04 firmware update that the Lite On's recognize a whole lot more media!
