Hello,

Just a little something to comment on. I was backing up a 2 year old Wesley Snipes movie. It was not released in the theatre. The funny thing was, the company the sent out the disks did not even encypt it in anyway. It would be funny if the coperations just gave up. Has anyone else seen this?

i dont even notice if they are encypted or not as DVD Shrink does just about everythingapart from allow you to adjust burn speeds(always burns at max disc speed )
i assume most discs are encrypted but shrink does not care.

Actually DVD Shrink says it if it is encrypted. If you have AnyDVD in the backround it removes it. This was before i discovered the wonders of AnyDVD. I guess somes movies are not even encypted any more from low budget studios. Some Steve Siegal movies are like this as well. Copy away. I mean like we weren't already. eheheh

There have always been some movies without encryption. I have at least 3 unencrypted movies (maybe more - I don't usually pay attention when I'm ripping).

OK ha ha very funny. Yeah they mass make those they don't have time for css protection. It would cost more and they go more for volume sales. LOL

I have a lot of foreign (i.e. non-English) DVDs and find that a good third of them don't have CSS. Seems to be a Hollywood thing for "popular" movies.

Shrink tells you the DVD is not encrypted and Decrypter just doesn't display any "keys" when it rips. Also ripping does go faster when there is no CSS encryption.

I thought I was the only one who ran into a movie that did not have CSS encryption. I did a Michele Yeoh movie from a big studio on the weekend and was shocked to see it had no CSS encryption.

Adult (read porn) movies have no CSS encryption. However, i was surprised in January to come across one that did! Go figure.

I do believe that it costs the studios to have each type of protection put on the disc eg: css, macrovision. So if they figure it will cost more to put the protection on than they will lose to piracy, why pay extra, especially seeing as how all current protections are obsolete anyway :)

If you love something set it free, if it comes back it is yours and always was, if it doesn't HUNT IT DOWN AND KILL IT !!!
