I've been using Shareaza for a while and love it, but lately I've been unable to connect to the server or search, and then the program drops my internet connection. It happened after I installed a TiVo wireless app called JavaHMO. I've since uninstalled the application, but for some reason Shareaza hasnt worked since. My router and ports are all set and working. Any ideas? Did the Java app mess with my internet connection?
Thanks in advance.

What are you on about TAZ!!
You should read the rules again.

My Shareaza is working fine, all i can suggest is to completely uninstall then reinstall and configure the ports and firewall/router again. Should do the trick

djcsurf - I mean exactly what I said !!!
Quote:
Shareaza is not generally supported here
Just as Kazza, Bearshare, WinMX, Imesh and others are not generally[ supported here. Whereas router configuration, port-forwarding, archive extraction, format conversion etc... are openly discussed, and covered extensively in other threads.

Thread topic of "Shareaza problems" and opening sentence of "I've been using Shareaza for a while and......" As mm2112 is a new user here I wanted to make sure that was clear.

Here is a refresher for you...........

Rule 5

5. -> PIRACY AND LINKING TO PIRATED MATERIAL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE FROZEN IF YOU DO THIS <-

Case examples regarding rule number five (5). No piracy.

Case: Pirated material, such as serial numbers and direct links to pirated, copyrighted material (including direct links to torrent files and ed2k links). PROHIBITED

Case: Technical, in depth discussion about copy protection circumvention (i.e. cracking). PROHIBITED

Case: Discussion about pirated content and piracy, such as converting (downloaded) video and/or audio files to DVD/AudioCD/whatever format. PERMITTED

Case: Discussion about copy protection circumvention in general (extracting encrypted content, such as DVD movies, compact discs, copy protected console and computer software, using existing software). PERMITTED

Case: Links to sites offering possibly pirated content (including torrent files and ed2k links). PERMITTED

still have a problem with my response....? Take it up with a mod.

Ive read it again and i still say there is nothing wrong with the above post concerning Shareaza.

This forum category was titled File sharing applications last time i checked

It is within the rules, so maybe you should take a chill pill ;)

@ Mr Taz UK

I don't understand why certain more senior members or control freaks have to be so critical and scolding of others' posts and questions. I have too have noticed a great deal of discussion about file sharing apps so obviously it is accepted. Maybe those of you out there who are guilty of the former could try to be a little more tolerant and a little less tyrranical. This seems overall to be a very friendly and helpful community. Please don't discourage newbies from asking questions. Thanks :)
