i downloaded this movie ' 8mm ' from bittorrent
its a rar file
now when i click it it asks for a password
please help.

The password is probably either

or

The password is ALMOST always in the file name. Think logical too i.e. supersonic, 8mmm, torrent, 32667-555-2005 etc.

Like I said its usually in the filename unless you're downloading from a private area that you're not supposed to dl from, and in that case you're screwed :D
