I don't know if i'm in the right section, forgive me if i'm not. I'm new here and need a little help. My question is if I have a DVD with region 2, and wanted to transfer into region 1, or vice versa, how would I go about it with my computer? Any help would be appreciated.

Use DVD Shrink to make a copy and make sure you check region free.

Open Shrink -> open disc or files -> when you click backup under "DVD Region" check region free

Thanks for your reply. Maybe i'm doing something wrong...but I did that already, and it still isn't working... I tried it twice.

only thing I could suggest is download AnyDVD (has a 21 day trial version)

run it in the background while you make your backup

You are going to have to convert them from PAL to NTSC in order to play them on a region 1 player.

Region 2 discs are not always PAL.

REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

yes, i know all the regions. but the question is how do i convert PAL to NTSC? My PC can read both, but when I make a copy of a PAL disc I'd like to make it in NTSC instead so i can watch it on my standalone dvd player. Do you know how to do that? the DVD Shrink isn't helping.

i think i just figured it out...the decrypter has the capability to convert the region. Although, it seems as if i can only reset 4 times.
