hey! i heard that this 'updated' version of Nero can detect if you have a dual layer DVD burner? because i have recently installed a dual layer DVD, and im wanting to know how to burn 8gb of data instead of compressing it to 4.7gb? does the new version do this..before i buy or download it?

I have Nero 6.6.0.0 Relouded, and it's showing that i have a NED DL burner...??

i only use them for certian movie like the starwars and lord of the rings extended versions, everythingelse goes on a single layer

Besides detecting if your burner has -/+ dual layer capabilities, it also detects for BlueRay.

i dont think you need a dual layer disc!? maybe, i think it detects you have a dual layer dvd burner and does it on a normal disc!? im not quite sure though!!

where abouts can u get dual layer discs then? because some movies even when i shrink them are still too big, and i dont know how to get a movie onto two discs, and the fact that u have to swap the movie half way through might be a pain in the bum

you can get them online any where that sells media, to split into two discs use dvdfab its easy and free.

The answer to your original question is that Nero will burn a dual layer disc, but no of course you can't burn 8Gb of data onto a 4.34Gb disc. Can you put two pints into a one pint glass?
