Ok, I must be doing something wrong. I have some movies backed up and I'm trying to burn them.

I have a Sony DW-D22A. I'm using T. Yudens, (TY02)'s.
Now I'm burning both PS2 backups, and DVD-R's. I can play the PS2 backups fine, no problems.

I have been trying to backup The Incredibles with no luck. I've tried using Nero 6 Ultra Edition, DVD decryptor, DVDShrink, CloneDVD2,Alcohol 120%. I have AnyDVD installed. The DVD's play fine in the computer but I cannot get them to play on my settop DVD player. I did get one movie to work.

I have DVD Identifier and it shows Taio Yuden(sp?) (TY02). The settop player is brand New. I have also tried with several different file formats.. .ISO,IMG,straight .VOB files.

Any Idea's PLEASE??? ;)

Is your stand alone player compatable with your disc?

Were they +rs or -rs?

Thanx for the reply...

Media is DVD-R's. I did get 1 movie on the same media to work on the player.

Is there a program that will tell you if the file is NTSC or PAL?

I know when I try to use DVD Decrypter to burn an ISO, even though I set write speed at 1x, it still writees at 4x. The media is 8x.

I'm not sure about the other programs, I'll have to keep trying I guess.

If you bought the original in North America, it will be NTSC. If you're downloading, there's no telling what you got.

If you're interested, I know VOB blanker will tell you if the video is NTSC or PAL. I'm sure there are others out there.

What brand/model of settop player do you have?

Its an Emerson 7004. The TY's I got are rated at 8x. Is there a way I can force it to burn at 2x?

But then again I did get 1 movie to work fine and that was 4x....Strange.

Try some +r media. A lot of the new set top players are more compatable with dvd+r format. Better yet, if your burner is capable, booktype your backups to dvd-rom (most compatable format, can only be done on +r media, requires a bitsetting tool).

wouldn't you think tho, that any newer settops would be the most compatible?

Some of the newer ones I've seen only support DVD+Rs.
