Winmx Download blues...

Hi, I just downloaded Winmx for the first time and am having some difficulties.

It connects OK and then searches OK but whenever I try to download a file the connection fails. This happens every time except when I try to download a really small file like a Jpeg. I've opened the TCP and UDP ports on my forewall and even tried changing them on WinMX. Can anyone help?

1. I would recommend trying out Limewire Pro instead of WinMX. Others recommend BearShare.

2. Are you sure you don't have Windows XP firewall enabled? If you do then I would recommend getting a firewall OTHER than Windows XP.

3. If you have a router, did you open the ports on there?

4. Are you downloading popular files?
