why is it that alcohol cdrwin dont recongnize my burner, and also when you go to my burner it says atapi dvd burner, it doesnt say benq 1620 and i cant seem to find any sort of driver just firmware which i have already flashed. can anyone help me remedy this problem?

i have the same burner and its gonna say atapi for some reason..if it doesnt detect ur dvd maybe u need to upgrade ur windows.. server pack.. not to sure tho:S

I just bought the same drive and it works great. Look on the box and let me know the Mfg. Date. You should find it on the top of the box. If it was mfg. after Nov 2004 you dont need a firmware upgrade. Is it the DW BenQ 1620 Pro?
