Hello All,

I have had a A7v333 motherbosrd with raid for several years now. Whan I originally set it up I had to run the 40 gig hard drives on the Promise Raid IDE plugs. Since the instruction for cabling of drives are not detailed and I do not know how drives shold be connected. There are 4 IDE plugs on the board. Two are Primary and Secondary ATA/133 and two are Primary and Secondary Promise Raid/133. Currently I have a IDE DVD=/-RW drive on the master primary IDE and a 52X CD-Rom on the master secondary plug. There are 2 40Gig harddrives - one bootable on the master primary raid plug and one on the master secondary raid plug. This seems to be the only way the raid would setup originally. I now wish to add a 160Gig harddrive to the system as a non-raid drive. When making inquiries the opinion is the system is not setup correctly. My question is: What is the correct connections for the harddrives and CD-Roms? Should one drive be on the master primary IDE channel and mirrored to one master primary IDE Raid channel. where should I add the 160 non raided harddrive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rich
