Hello, I was hoping maybe someone has experienced a similar problem to mine and could share some helpful advice. Also, I checked as best I could to see if someone had posted a similar problem before but could not find it.

I recently put together a new system with the burner mentioned above, purchased from newegg.com OEM. I installed windows with the drive (XP SP2) so I know that it works. If I put a CD in for example, the icon in explorer says there is a CD in the drive but doesn't display the title and zero space free zero space used. If I double click to browse the contents, I lock up for about 45 seconds, then when it comes back I'm in the drive but nothing is there, as if I'm browsing a blank CD. Also, if I boot up with a bootable CD in the drive it detects it and runs it fine. Seems to be some kind of strange conflict with only Windows.

Newegg says tech support questions for OEM products are only handled by the manufacturer and NEC says oem tech support questions will be handled by the distributor. Fun times for me!

Anyways I would be eternally grateful for any assistance offered and hope to be burning my data to DVD soon! (This is my first DVD burner, looking forward to putting it to work!)
