If your talking about building a comp-
Pros are you can save alot of money (and it can be fun), Cons if you buy OEM goods you sometimes dont get manuals and software that you would get with retail stuff. If something goes wrong you also really need to know what your doing or have a friend who does because you cant just take it bact to the shop.

I am definately building for the experience. Can you recommend any websites for computer parts? I already known Newegg which looks like a great website.

kinza

I watch Newegg.com, MWave.com and also any stores that have sales for items to purchase. Keep in mind that you will also have to purchase Windows OS if that's the way you are leaning which can cost a bit. If you are a Teacher or Student you can get great deals with Newegg.com on MS upgrades for OS and also Office, etc. For example I purchased Windows XP Professional for under $90 as an upgrade with Academic/Student pricing. Once it recognized a Windows 98 CD, I just did a full install, no upgrade required.

i wouldnt worry too much about buying an OS, how can i say this....there are 'options' open to you when getting a hold of any software - including windows.

Look here for a nice card. I have one & have rivatuned it to 16 pixel pipelines. Only the Gainward, I am led to believe, will do this. Not all, but about 70 odd percent.
