My MSI dvd writer doesnt recognize any of my dvd media. It has worked fine for about a year now and one day a few weeks ago dvddecrypter told me my media wasnt compatable. The drive will read, and write cds of any type, but it wont recognize any type of blank dvd media, nor does it recognize any of my store bought DVDs.

On the back of the drive there are the master/slave and cable select jumpers, then the IDE connector, and then another set of jumpers with the words "factory use".. are these jumpers a way to clear the firmware or factory settings? sort of the way you can clear your CMOS on your mother board?

Is there anything i can do? or am I just screwed and need to buy a new dvd writer?
