Help with a USB 2.0 external DVD writer

HI,

I bought a SONY internal 16x DVD writer. Am using it as an external drive by placing it in a USB enclosure. The enclosure has USB 2.0.
When I first started Widows XP came up with the message that "This device can perform faster if connected to Hi-speed USB port. So I updated the drivers for USB 2.0 on my laptop and it worked fine.

Then I tried to burn a 4X DVD-R with it. It took about 66 mins to burn it. Isn't it too much time with USB 2.0 capability? What should I check to get the normal writing time. I used Nero 6 to write the DVD.

Any advice will be highly appreciated.
