i have in BIOS the systems internal HD as first boot up device but to no avail. hope someone can enlighten me.

What operating system are you using?
Have you enabled 'legacy USB devices' in the CMOS setup?

What BIOS are you using?
Within the CMOS you should have options pertaining to USB legacy support or words to that effect.

Yep, nice to see you pop back and tell us you fixed it.
Stick around markya, you'll pick up lots of info here..........
And Welcome to Afterdawn
When set to 'enabled', it might have something to do with the 'lag' between the time it takes the HD to spin up and initialise but the fact that it is enabled, may mean that it works better for solid state devices such as Mouse/keyboard etc.
Whereas in 'auto', it knows there is something there so holds the intialisation until the HD can spin up and register itself. (If you know what I mean)
