can someone tell me if i get a card reader can i also put information e.g. pictures via that card reader.

i am wondering why it is called a card "reader"

then youd be looking for a card reader/writer most ones that read will write anyways but check the specs, the description and make sure it says that it will also some only write to certain types of card.

The answer is usually yes.. I have never seen a third party "Card Reader" that doesn't allow you to write to the card as well. You can use Windows Explorer to move files (Pictures, MP3s, Docs, etc) to write to the removable media. I am assuming you are refering to a standard Removable Media Card, like Secure Digital, Compact Flash, Sony Memory Stick, SmartMedia, etc. My Multimedia Card Reader of choice is the Mitsumi FA-404 7-in-One with replaces your Floppy Drive. Comes in Beige and Black and uses a USB-2 header from the Motherboard.

Just to add, I think on 'Secure Digital' cards they have a switch on them to prevent them from being written to, much like the switch that exists on floppies................

...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............
